Last night we saw the first raccoon cubs of the year! Four cubs were out with their mother.

Human raccoon communication
The raccoon was worked out how to communicate with me. Sit in the tree looking at the house until I take the food out and then making sure I move just far enough away that she feels comfortable getting the seed!

Fox not keen to share

Three evening raccoons - two get scared
There were three evening raccoons - but when they saw me at the kitchen door two quickly ran off. The one left is the one that comes looking for me to feed her - so not scared!!

No Sharing!
This raccoon didn't seem to mind sharing with the deer - but no-way was it sharing with another raccoon. The deer was scared off in the process!!

All sorts of interactions.
The raccoons wait in a tree, staring at the house, until I feed them. Then, they come running! The fox and raccoon just don't get along, and it seems the possum just didn't want to be followed!

Eager Raccoon
I've not been able to get food out for the past few days, so this raccoon was really eager to get to the seed. Came running in - was only a few feet away from me!

A very pregnant possum!
Yesterday we had a possum with young on its back. Today, another possum with a very full pouch - in-fact a part of the young possum is sticking out!

First Time! Baby possums on the back!!
This is a first for us. There were two baby possums on the back of the mother! In the last clip, it looks as though one has come off the back and now needs to find its own way in life - climbing up the tree! I guess as they get bigger they naturally fall off and leave the mother.

Up close raccoon and bigger fox kits!
The raccoons are getting me trained. This one was staring at the house until I filled the food trays. Then it came in while I was still there - about 5-6 feet away! During the night the mother fox and two kits came through - they are almost as big as the mother.

Nesting box hatchlings and a hummingbird sheen.
The birds nesting in the bird box had five eggs. Four have hatched, although the video shows only three mouths. The way the nest is built in the box makes it difficult to see everything. The hummingbird video really shows off the feathers!

Evening raccoon, morning possum, growing up foxes, and a hummingbird
More animals are coming out in daylight. Raccoons in the evening and a possum this morning. The foxes are out during the night and the young ones are getting bigger! The hummingbirds are getting more regular.

Raccoon waiting and fox-kits
I looked out of the kitchen window and saw this raccoon waiting for me to fill the food trays. The raccoons have me well trained! It couldn't wait to get in!! We still have the fox kits running around.
