A busy night - despite the snow......
We've had some problems with mice in the garage (including chewing wiring in our car last year that cost $700 to repair) - so I have (unfortunately) had to trap them. Yesterday I put the dead mouse out in the food tray - so at least its sacrifice would help others - and the possum appreciated the result. (Not graphic.....)

We also had snow covered raccoons, a couple of rabbits - they seem to be multiplying - a close-up of a raccoon and a squirrel determined to find out what is under the seed tray!!!

A busy night......
It was a busy night. First, the raccoon was looking for what was coming - before running off with the turkey carcass. Then a possum, which we haven't seen for a while, followed by coyote and fox......

The fox and then a raccoon check-out of a new camera....
The fox visited. We also set up a new camera with a view across the backyard. The raccoons have to check out anything new. So it got a good "sniff"!!!

Four Plump Raccoons
Normally by this time of year the raccoons would be getting thinner. They don't hibernate but they do spend really cold weather in a "stupor" - deep sleep and live off their fat. This Winter has been so warm that they have been feeding - and staying plump!!!!

Fox, Raccoon and a new cat for Janie......
This raccoon was definitely NOT sharing with the fox...... And we had a new cat for Janie during the day. It looks pretty healthy.

Interesting fox comparison pictures...
The fox was back again last night, and looking at the images, I noticed that the fox is very rounded in the abdomen. I pulled an image from last December to compare. Now, animals tend not to get fat - especially in Winter - so I'm wondering if we could expect little foxes??????

A first!!!! A fox and raccoon almost sharing......
This is a first. The bouncy fox came running in and the raccoon climbed a tree. BUT, then the raccoon came down, and went back to the food bowls, and they almost shared, but both were very nervous of each other.

A busy night.....
We had a busy night. First, the possum didn't want the raccoon coming in - but the raccoon just continued coming, then a raccoon ran off as the fox "bounced" in, and finally the deer were spooked by something. The same four deer that came through the other night.

Our "bouncy" fox came running in. The raccoon wasn't staying - so it climbed the tree, and kept watch. It did come down, but decided it would be better off some where else.......

Up the tree, and down again!!!!
The raccoon wasn't sure when it heard something coming - so it was up the tree. Then when it realized it was just another raccoon, down it came. This happens often - the raccoons often go to safety up the trees.
