The word must be out amongst the deer, it's the place for food. Two at 11:00pm and then three at 1:00am.

A very plump raccoon grabbed the Texas toast, and the deer seems to be a regular visitor.

Squirrels snuggled
The squirrels were nice and snug in the "owl box" - but this one just had to look out and see what I was doing. Nothing visited the food trays last night - not surprising with the snow!!!

Squirrel grooming!!!
I normally only see the squirrels running around like mad things - or digging holes in the grass to bury nuts!!! This one was really grooming the other squirrel in the nesting box!!!!

possum-raccoon "odd couple" and a deer visit
The raccoon and possum make an "odd couple". They are sharing the space under the shed. The possum came out first and seemed to be giving orders to the raccoon!!!!

Owl box is becoming a squirrel box.....
This was meant to be an owl nesting box - but the squirrel seems to be building its nest there - bring leaves in!!!

It's a dog's life......
It's a dog's life!! We had a coyote visit, then two dogs that I don't recognize visited at about 4:00AM, then Morgan stopped by nearer 6:00AM. Unusual to see so many dogs overnight.

Raccoons and rib bones.....
The raccoons really enjoyed the Firebirds' rib bones. One of the raccoons always seems to eat "standing up".

Possum with pineapple and raccoon party time
The possum got in quick and took the pineapple core before anything else could arrive. Later, the raccoons gathered for their party. All the animals really love pineapple - either fresh or over ripe!!!!

Rain night and sheltering under the shed!!!!
Night before last we had heavy rain. The raccoon under the shed didn't want to come out, but wouldn't let the possum in!! The raccoon then tried coming out and quickly changed its mind!!!

The possum came in to share with the two raccoons. Later the two raccoons came back to share with the possum. I guess they can all "get along".

The last hummingbird visitor for this year......
I think this is the last hummingbird visitor for the year. This one came through on September 29th - about 6 days ago - and none seen since. We will have to wait for next year's migration.

Owl box visitors
I set up a new owl nesting box yesterday - high on a tree. It was quickly visited by a small bird and a squirrel - no owls yet - which is not surprising.
