The mouse was quicker than the fox..........

This little mouse made a quick get-away before the fox came in. The fox has become a regular - but the first time I've capture a mouse getting out of the way!!!

With the (relatively) warmer weather - we are seeing more traffic. Here are five plump raccoons and a quick visit from the fox..... (Rabbits and possums also over night - but not in the video.)

A raccoon gets an unpleasant surprise!!!!

The fox was taking food from the bowl, and then eating behind the tree, when a raccoon decided to come in - not realizing that the fox was around!! (Don't forget this is in night vision - so it is pitch black for the animals.) The fox was NOT going to share!!!!

Last night was busy!!!

Last night was busy!!! The possum wasn't happy when the raccoon moved in, then 4 raccoons had a party. The fox visited for a while. The raccoon seemed to be scared off by a rabbit!!!! But got revenge when it ran up behind a squirrel just after sunrise........

"International Squirrel Day" - January 21st.

As yesterday was "International Squirrel Day" - I though a quick view of the squirrels that live in the backyard would be good. We have many, many squirrels that live there all year long - full of energy!!!!

Hierarchy of animals......

There seems to be a hierarchy of animals, with raccoon at the top, possum in the middle, and the poor cat at the bottom......  At least when it comes to the way they response to the possum trying to scare them away.

Everything is still active with the warm weather.....

Although there was rain - it was also very warm over night, so we had the possum with a raccoon, and then four raccoons.

Not very exciting..... but three plump raccoons visited

Not very exciting.....  but three plump raccoons visited.  Normally this time of year the raccoons are dormant - not hibernating - but deep sleeping.  With the warm weather they are out feeding, and getting even plumper.....

Fox and Five well fed raccoons......

A fox quickly passed through, and for much of the night there was a crowd of raccoons - as many as five at a time. All looking very well fed!!!!
