First Humming Bird of 2019

Today we capture (an image) of our first humming bird of 2019 - so I thought I would send it out.

A change of food for the wildlife.....

We have been putting deer food out - but only the raccoons and possums eat it!! (The deer seem to prefer the seed...)  So we have put out some cheap dog food - and the raccoon enjoyed it - but did need to chew more!!!!  No visitors in daylight....

Two raccoons in daylight - one was not happy to see me.....

These two raccoons were feeding in daylight - early evening.  The one on the left ran when it saw me - the other wasn't bothered and carried on eating.  You could almost hear it saying "What's the fuss - it's only Mike?"

The evening before we had one daylight raccoon visiting - last evening there were two!!!  Who knows for tonight.......

An evening visit from a raccoon....

We've found in past years that, as Spring comes along, the raccoons start to appear in the evenings to get food.   Often, we have found that soon after we are seeing cubs with their mother......  Last evening was the first time this year we have seen an evening raccoon.  This was about 8:00pm.

The possum may be expecting??????

This raccoon wasn't sure about the possum and the possum wasn't sure about the raccoon - BUT if you look closely at the possum it has bulging abdomen - which may mean we have some babies on the way.

In the early hours of the morning - we had a visit from the Easter bunny.......

Something different....

The past nights we have had the regular visitors - raccoons & possums - and I'm waiting to see cubs before too long.  I've set up our hummingbird camera.  You can see the hummingbird migration at :  https://www.hummingbirdcentral.com/ and they are getting closer.

So far it hasn't been visited by hummingbirds - just others looking for a drink of water!!!

Possums Love City BBQ Texas Toast......

Possums LOVE City BBQ Texas Toast - One was so keen it was taking the tray away with the toast.  Gone early on in the evening.... (Both pieces..... )

The two possums were quiet happy - until the raccoon decided to join them.  They ended up sharing.......

Bootsie (The cat) facing off a raccoon........

Bootsie (Bill & Janie's cat) has been out for a couple of weeks.  Clearly she is "rock hard" facing off the raccoon.  I think she is home at last.

The wildlife - and Bootsie - are back....

After being away, we have visitors back - including Janie's Bootsie - who has been living ouside for about 2 weeks now.
